The Oregon Workforce Partnership (OWP) is excited to announce the launch of SkillUp Oregon, a free virtual training platform powered by Metrix Learning, designed to help Oregonians enhance their skills, prepare for certifications, and expand career opportunities.

This innovative program offers free access to more than 7,000 online courses in high-demand fields such as business, leadership, information technology, manufacturing, workplace safety, and soft skills. With new courses added monthly, Oregonians can learn at their own pace, 24/7, on any internet-connected device—at no cost to the learner.

“We are thrilled to bring this resource statewide to empower Oregonians to improve their skills and pursue meaningful employment,” said Heather DeSart, Chair of the Oregon Workforce Partnership. “By removing barriers to training, SkillUp Oregon ensures that everyone, regardless of their circumstances, has the opportunity to grow professionally and personally.”

  • Training tracks leading to more than 100 industry certifications in fields that are widely recognized by Fortune 500 companies.
  • Available 24/7 on mobile or desktop devices, ensuring flexible and convenient learning options.
  • No cost to participants—there is no option for learners to pay, ensuring equitable access for all.

Proven Success in Oregon

Since its introduction in Portland Metro in January 2022 and expansion to SNAP ABAWD participants statewide in July 2023, SkillUp Oregon has already demonstrated success. To date:

  • 5,289 learners have completed 27,169 courses, totaling 9,831 hours of learning.
  • Now, the platform is available to all Oregon residents, accessible through My WorkSource.

How to Get Started

Oregonians can access SkillUp Oregon through our mobile web app (no download required) and clicking on the Metrix Learning button, or by visiting My WorkSource and creating a free account. SNAP ABAWD participants should continue accessing the platform through their assigned ABAWD Coaches.
