Through reentry services supported by Clackamas Workforce Partnership, Luis received transportation assistance and work-related supplies that helped him maintain employment.

Finding employment is an important step after incarceration, but keeping a job can come with its own challenges. Reliable transportation, necessary work supplies, and access to ongoing support can make all the difference.

For Luis, assistance through the ReEntry and ReStart programs came at just the right time.

The programs helped Luis obtain items he needed for work and provided gas cards so he could travel to and from his job. These practical resources helped him maintain employment while continuing to work toward greater stability and independence.

Just as important was the personal guidance he received along the way.

Luis credits Elena Esquivel, a member of the reentry team, for encouraging him through challenging moments and helping him access the resources he needed.

“Having someone who encouraged me, offered guidance, and helped me access the resources necessary to succeed made a tremendous impact,” Luis shared.

With that support, Luis has been able to remain employed and continue making progress toward his goals.

His experience demonstrates an important part of successful workforce reentry: support doesn’t end when someone gets a job. Sometimes, relatively small investments in transportation and work essentials can help someone stay employed and keep building a more stable future.
