Kim Freeman has been recognized with the Workforce Champion Award by Oregon Workforce Partnership. She was presented with this award June 21 at a Board meeting of Clackamas Workforce Partnership.
Kim has been in the workforce education field since 1992, and currently serves as Area Manager for the State of Oregon Employment Department. In this role, she works closely with the state’s workforce investment boards, economic development agencies, community-based organizations, community colleges and other state organizations to support businesses and promote employment. Prior to joining the Oregon Employment Department, Kim served as Dean of Corporate and Government Relations at Mt. Hood Community College in Portland, Oregon where she oversaw a number of departments.
Kim previously worked at Linn-Benton Community College as Assistant Director of a program serving dislocated workers, single parent displaced homemakers, and welfare recipients. Prior to that, she worked as a child protective services social worker for a county welfare department in Colorado, as an HIV/AIDS educator in Denver, Colorado, and as a treatment coordinator in Eugene, Oregon.
Kim has a master’s degree in Organizational Development and Training. She is based in Portland, Oregon.
