Darryl Spitzer has received the Workforce Champion Award from Oregon Workforce Parntership. Darryl is the Apprenticeship/Manufacturing and Industrial Technology Program Coordinator for Tillamook Bay Community College. He is an MSSC instructor and teaches classes in Manufacturing, Safety, Quality, and Predictive Maintenance. As a former small business owner, Darryl has keen insight into the needs of business and workers. He uses this experience to drive workforce development within the college’s Career Technical Education and Customized Training Programs. Darryl is an experienced leader, trainer, and mentor. He understands the critical importance of employer relationships and input.
Darryl started working with Northwest Oregon Works, the workforce board for the northwest region of Oregon, as part of its Local Leadership Team in 2016. Since that time he has been a facilitator for continuous improvement projects involving service mapping and process improvement. Darryl also serves on several committees aligning education with workforce needs. He believes workforce readiness and skill development is paramount as Oregonians look to the future.
Given the opportunity Darryl would rather be on the water fishing and crabbing. His family is his number one priority.
